Better Business Information

I am starting college 4 days per week in the morning until afternoon and I have decided to start my own small balloon boquet business. I am a very experienced balloon twister and entertainer as well. Tonight I finished designing my business card and flyer. It states that I do Balloon Bouquets, Twisting Entertainment, and Event Decor. I have an ad on Craigslist.
What should I do now to get some business?

I currently own a website that caters to people locally and I was thinking about selling ad space on my website to local businesses. What do you think is the best way for me to contact a local business with my proposal? Should I call them up, send them a sales letter through the mail, or email them if they have a website? I was thinking about just emailing them since they probably get solicited all the time. What do you think?

Beyond Business: Do you have the right golf swing technique? I know I don’t.

My family and I started a new janitorial company and we have a meeting with a potential client later this week, but I do not know what to bring with me. I want to wait until after the meeting to draft a proposal so I can include specifics and details relating to the their business and exact needs. Obviously I would need to bring business cards and such, and a notebook to jot down notes. Is there any other material I should bring that might be useful? I have never done this before so I am kind of clueless.

Beyond Business: I have had it with these “people finder” companies that claim that I can find anyone for free and then they charge me. So, I searched for totally free people find and this worked. I found a site that lets me find people’s phone numbers for free, really free!
